COURSE CONTENT//

​

In this course we will learn how to shape soft waxes to make jewelery which will then be cast in the desired metal.

We will learn to make texture imprints and create volumes with wax sheets. 

We will also see how to model sculpture wax and make disposable molds in casting clay  and silicone to work textures or negative molds.

I will teach you to join the wax thread with the hot tip and I will teach you to create settings for stones or for  elements to insert in your jewels.

Finally, I will teach you to recognize the final weight of the pieces depending on the metal chosen and the approximate casting price so that you have an idea of the estimated costs when you take the waxes to the casting. 

A list of suppliers will follow.

The workshop will provide all the necessary materials and tools included in the course price excluding waxes.

 

The price of casting is not included in the lost wax exercises as it varies greatly depending on the number of pieces and the metal used by each student.
